The Builders Exchange of Washington is a real plan center. We were here before the Internet had the capability to serve our customers. Now we have created that capability ourselves. Using our own FastBid™ online bidding software, our customers can view and bid more jobs in less time than ever before.
The Builders Exchange of Washington is one of the first plan centers in the nation to move online what traditionally was the laborious, painstaking process of preparing subcontracting bids. The Builders Exchange now hosts building plans for hundreds of projects across the United States.

The Builders Exchange’s proprietary FastBid online system allows those in the building industry to review building documents and to measure, estimate and prepare construction bids with complete accuracy, all from BXWA’s web site. Architects, general contractors, subcontractors and others now are able to prepare bids and review building documents any hour of the day or night from their office or work site without traveling to a plan center. In addition, project architects and general contractors save the expense of preparing numerous sets of drawing plans. Now one set of plans posted on the BXWA web site can provide information to unlimited numbers of users at once.

When BXWA founder Cheri French opened the Snohomish County Plan Center in September 1986, she already was an experienced Snohomish County businesswoman, but she had no idea what technology lay ahead. From a start with one computer in 1997, The Builders Exchange today runs on computer systems powerful enough to hold complete building plans for projects such as Safeco Field and hundreds of other projects from local schools to California shopping centers. Through innovation, BXWA continues to save those in the building industry time and money.

The Builders Exchange’s FastBid online bidding system is taught through construction management programs at Edmonds Community College, Central Washington University, University of Washington, Bellingham Technical College, University of Houston, Missouri State University, Pittsburg State University and University of Central Missouri.

The BXWA commitment remains constant: to continue to help its members deliver the power and advantages of technology to their companies' bottom line.
