Description:
Faber Construction is soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from Mechanical Contractor/Construction Manager (MC/CM) and Electrical Contractor/Construction Manager (EC/CM) firms for participation in the Roosevelt Elementary School Rebuild Project.
The Roosevelt Elementary School Rebuild Project, located at 2900 Yew Street in Bellingham, Washington, involves the demolition of the existing school and construction of a new, approximately 70,000-square-foot, two-story mass timber school designed to serve up to 450 students. The project emphasizes sustainability with a goal of achieving net-zero energy readiness and incorporates best-in-class energy efficiency technologies. Anticipated building systems will include a vertical geothermal borefield with ground source heat exchanger, condenser water and water source heat pumps. Additionally, the building is anticipated to include a roof mounted photovoltaic array with battery energy storage system. The project will also include all associated site improvements such as parking and utilities and will require careful coordination with the surrounding residential neighborhood. The anticipated construction time-frame is from June 2027 to August 2028, with a total construction budget of approximately $60 million. Please note that the program of this project is closely tied to the completion of other school district projects. Additionally, this project is funded for preconstruction, but the school construction will require passing of a ballot measure currently anticipated for fall of 2026.
