Description:
The purpose of the project is to improve the student pick up/drop off area to limit the number of vehicles queuing and parking along Fruitland Avenue. The south parking area will be extended further south to provide a passenger drop off/pick up area, as well as additional onsite queuing and parking stalls. The north parking lot will be redeveloped into the bus drop off/pick up area.
The site-work includes clearing of existing trees, vegetation and parking lot improvements, stormwater conveyance, detention, and treatment facilities, fire hydrant relocation, new sidewalks, raised concrete crosswalks, and a redeveloped gathering plaza, parking lots, parking lot lighting, electric vehicle charging stations, fencing, and landscaping.
The Project Consists of Two Phases to fully construct the North and South parking lots.
Phase I: The construction activities that must be completed by August 26, 2025, include the installation of TESC measures, site demolition, site excavation and fill, stormwater improvements, water system improvements, and installation of underground power and irrigation. The contractor must achieve substantial completion of the North Lot and turn it over to Puyallup School District by August 26, 2025. Additionally, the South Lot must be prepared to subgrade and include 65 temporary parking stalls for Puyallup School District use by this same date. Throughout Phase 1, the contractor is required to maintain continuous site access for Puyallup School District maintenance and administration staff.
Phase II: The construction activities that must be completed by November 15, 2025, include full completion of the South Lot while maintaining 65 parking stalls beyond the August 26, 2025, deadline. Work also includes completion of the North Parking Lot, including all associated landscaping, lighting, and final electrical work that was not completed in Phase 1.
