Description:
Removing a concrete bulkhead, expanding an existing saltwater lagoon, constructing a tidal channel, re-planting salvaged native vegetation around the fringe of the new lagoon. The project also includes removing existing riprap and several trees along the shoreline and streambanks; naturalizing the shoreline by installing large woody debris, bioengineered softshore armoring and a deformable gravel berm; performing work within Twanoh Creek that includes expanding the floodplain, installing clusters of large woody debris within the stream and floodplain, removing and replacing a pedestrian bridge and abutments, and installing bioengineered streambanks.
