Description:
Scale Replacement Work:
1. Contractor shall sequentially remove and replace the four truck scales located at the scale plaza near the site entrance at SWRTS.
2. The work includes the following:
a. Disposal off site of the four existing scales.
b. Revisions to the concrete pedestals for each scale as necessary to suit the new scale equipment. Revisions could include lowering or raising the pedestals.
c. Cleaning and pressure washing of the four scale pits and water jet cleaning of the scale pit drain pipes. Upon cleaning, the drain lines shall be CCTV inspected. The results of the CCTV inspection shall be provided to the A/E Representative and Owner.
d. Installation of new multisection electronic load cell scales with poured-in-place concrete deck surface, full length central steel access panels, load cell access covers, and ancillary cabling and components that are located on or at the scales.
1) Reconnection of scales to Owner’s proprietary Blue Heat/Net Ethernet interface hardware and software system.
e. Reconnection of all cabling leading from the data management and cashiering system equipment in the two scale houses and one scale booth to the scales with a bid allowance for possible replacement of portions of this cabling depending on the condition of the cabling at time of installation.
f. Testing and certification of the new scales. The results shall be provided to the A/E Representative and Owner.
3. Obtain and pay for all permits required for the work including off-site, over-size load transportation permit(s) if applicable, and any other permits.
4. Temporary facilities including but not limited to temporary utilities, Contractor’s office trailer (if needed), supplies, temporary fencing, signage, traffic management, flagging and other means of protecting the public and operations staff from hazards of the Work including traffic control during delivery and offloading of scale equipment, removal of the old equipment, and items in accordance with requirements of Section 01 57 19, “Temporary Facilities and Controls.”
